Ascent Aviation joins Aircraft Fleet Recycling Association

TUCSON, AZ - 04-9-2012 - Ascent Aviation Services Corp. (Tucson AZ) has become a new member of Aircraft Fleet Recycling Association (AFRA). AFRA is recognised as the leading global industry association dedicated to pursuing and promoting environmental best practice, regulatory excellence and sustainable developments in aircraft disassembly, as well as the salvaging and recycling of aircraft parts and materials. “Ascent shares AFRA’s common goal and mission which is the sustainable management of end-of-life airframes and engines.” - Michael Melvin, President/CFO.

Ascent is a premier narrow body maintenance, modification, refurbishment and storage facility located at Tucson International Airport. Ascent provides high quality, cost efficient, 24/7 support with competitive turn times and is FAA / EASA certificated.

The ASCENT facilities located at Tucson International Airport consist of 23 acres of concrete ramp, over 34,000 sq ft feet of hangar space along with 88,000 sq ft of backshop and secured consignment space in an ideal desert climate. The FAA and EASA approved repair station specializes in B737 Classic, B737NG, MD80/90 and B717 aircraft. Ascent performs heavy and line maintenance, modifications, transition, aircraft refurbishment, storage and reclamation services along with consigned part sales. Ascent's workforce has completed more than 450 heavy maintenance and modification visits on the B737 and MD80 fleet types since 2002.
